Exploring the Possibilities

Lightness and Being… July 1, 2011

There is a shift happening on our planet…a major shift. And I feel myself moving to new places….I’m not ‘myself’ for ‘myself’ is changing. As I feel the ‘old’ in my world coming up again, feelings, situations that I recognize, I realize they are the mirages I need to catapult me elsewhere…..somewhere more fitting for who I am becoming. It’s challenging, this process. I am out of my comfort zone for sure.

Just where I (in ways) like to be. Moving forward, moving forward….

To me, it’s something about moving into ‘heart energy’, moving away from pain and fear into an unconditional acceptance and love toward ourselves and others.

How does THAT fit into our current world. Might we be willing to let go of the pain and suffering which we all embrace more often than we might or like to?

Heart Energy....it has its own vibration

I am having my own awakenings. I am experiencing many of the old unfavorite feelings coming forth, asking me ‘do you really want to be here….again’?

The answer is a clear and emphatic ‘NO!’ Awareness first, and then the conscious choice to CHANGE. ME, as this is no one else’s job.

So, I sit with the discomfort as best I can and know in doing so, it will shift to something new.

How to ‘be love’….keep a connection to something greater than me. Allow others to BE who they are and not let who they are affect me. And then, what am I willing or unwilling to accept in my world?

How might I BE love….stay in that connected state….connected to the love that is available to us moment by moment? And, what IS ecstatic bliss. How might we move there, stay there?

I recently had a basic numerology reading….I find this ancient art, science….fascinating. The fllowing paragraph, about ME, captivated my attention.

‘You also have a tendency to jump to conclusions or make assumptions about others without fully analyzing the matter first. People are often startled by your tendency to “look before you leap.” For this reason, you need a right hand man or woman or some kind of best friend to encourage you to sleep on important matters before you make a split decision. ‘

I find this to be true. And…

‘You love change. You live to experience as much as possible in the shortest amount of time possible. You appreciate the fact that life is short and are bound and determined to make the most of every minute you have on this earth. You have an inquisitive mind and a thirst for adventure that is only slaked by the collecting of unusual experiences and plenty of travel.

Your adaptable nature puts you at home anywhere. You are also a bit of chameleon that is able to transform its appearance and nature to suit the environment. You are a big believer in the phrase “When in Rome.. Do as the Romans do.” Your closet is usually full of many costumes, as part of your soul’s satisfaction is to do a bit of “play acting” in real life.’

This all resonates with me. And I question…

How to BE REAL with ‘what is’….be with the pain, the joy…stay with it 100% and things can easily shift and shift and shift! How might we move into ‘God consciousness’. I want heaven on earth. And again, isn’t that up to ME to divine. Sure it is!

‘You believe that an expression of true love for another soul is the courage to let them go to pursue their own path’.

Certainly my mind agrees and my heart too though it snags on old stories which have been coming up for me to release….as they are just stories where I forget my own connection and divinity.

So today…being with what is…not so comfortable as I’m a one speedy for comfort and solutions. Sometimes things take time….this pot needs to boil before bubbling over into something new.

And, it will. I trust that it will and no doubt sooner than I realize.

How might WE rise….on this Easter Day April 24, 2011

Rise from the very beliefs, habits, associations, which hold us back from our true desires and potential.

Might nature guide us back to the places where we feel most alive?

Might sitting with our breath awhile remind us of other places we might arrive within ourselves?

I have felt over the last weeks the pull toward my own freedom as well as the anchor of my own habits, ‘stories’ from my past and inability at times to MOVE from where I feel momentarily stuck. And yesterday it was like thick glue arresting my heart and my soul.

And then the wakeup reminders we experience, (through people is how I seem mostly to receive them, they like actors clad in their own stories, their mannerisms a products of the many years which shaped them, their talk, their nuances)….all serving to take me more deeply into myself if I’m open to going there.

And I watch at how people pace themselves noticing their same mixtures of desire for ‘more’, (as in purpose in their lives), and too how they are drawn to desires I share, or where they also hold back with trepidation, hints of some unconscious fear.

Yet, at mid century point, many of us seem a bit protective of the lives we have created, branching out too much either in new terrain, physically or emotionally, is not always so welcome, certainly not if we’ve found a ‘groove’ which suits us in many ways.

Though I consider too how perhaps at times we ‘protest too much’ and a wandering outside our ‘safe’ zone might be a VERY good thing.

I feel the need, desire to ‘cloister in’ often, in myself….selfish or fearful at times, perhaps, but honest. And if honestly is selfishness, or rather, claiming who I am and what I desire for myself considered selfish, so be it.

Even so, I’ll encourage myself to wander more from time to time….and this week…..off to Italy I go.

Maybe I’ll run into the Pope…and he’ll offer some clues??

Perhaps we might all rise from the dead of our own limitations, our own lethargy which keeps us mired in energies of the past.

‘Rise up’ I say….’Rise up!’

Why not?

Struggle, Defining and Redefined… April 8, 2011

I began this week vetching (maybe) about what I perceive as authenticity and struggle. I am working through coaxing the first to emerge within myself organically, (yes, in a culture less accepting of differences) and I’m sitting this morning, (with gorgeous dogwood trees, my favorite, just outside my window), considering the true gifts around what feels like ‘struggle’ in ones life.

I had a moment this week, (it was more than a moment), where I felt the weight, abject heaviness of uncertainly in areas of my life I’m dealing with, feeling myself wanting to PUSH for a solution, that frankly is not quite ready to come yet.

I could feel that PART of myself rallying in her frantic, unstoppable way, with a drive I don’t enjoy, intent on getting her way…..

I am reminded here of a song I wrote in my play many moons ago, ‘Through Ruby’s Eyes’ called, ‘I Want it NOW!’ The chorus being,
‘I want it now, now, now, now, now, now, NOW!”….gee, not obtuse one bit!!

Imagine a rock n roller whose body is moving faster than her words, a physical and vocal display of youthful obstinance, petulance and hysteria!

This song coupled by the later ‘You Gotta Wait’ song. (Funny, in looking back, how clearly these messages were lining up as tiny tips of wisdom from God and the Universe channeling through me at the time, a dichotomy of sort)…

‘I Want it Now’ with ‘You Gotta Wait’.

Life IS stranger than fiction!

The chorus to the latter,
‘You gotta wait and it’ll come to you, be patient too, be patient too, it’s all right it’s okay, abandon of the safety valve, value YOU, value YOU!’

Good God! Soooo….struggle has value. It is a teacher. And if we’ll wait, wait out the petulant child, a message will come on how we might best move forward, in our OWN way, in an authentic manner which not only OTHERS will feel, but which, ohhh, if we trust, will feel right to us as well.

The magical Universe, God, All that Is, call that force he, she, it, them, what you will…..

Struggle defines us. And might I redefine struggle.

I’m so thankful to not be alone.

With love, always with love,

Terrell Rocks…and ooooh the taste of heaven! April 2, 2011

It’s true. I have a new chef at my venue Carl House.

His food….oh Lordy….his creations are rocking my culinary world.

And I soooo love to be surprised.

Tonight, I popped in to see how our event, a gorgeous wedding, was going on. We’ve certainly served polenta cakes before….but Terrell’s were something from an alternate Universe. TAAAASTY doesn’t begin to describe the melt in your mouth, over-the-top ridiculous treasure in these cakes.

Yes Terrell’s polenta cakes hit new heights…the seasoning, texture, feel in my mouth. Food can be entirely sensuous, surprising, okay….I won’t go as far as erotic, (but I did think it).

‘WHAT did you make these with Terrell??’

I exclaimed, with a beautific expression pasted all over, ’round, up and down on my face.

‘These are heaven, light, magical, ironic!’

‘Corn’ he explained….’And??’ I countered. Then a trio of spices I now forget, cream, butter……ahhhhh….well, of course, surely. It’s not as though I was planning to MAKE them….but merely worship his culinary grace.

DAMN……I’m a lucky woman!!

Chicken ala 'Terrell'

And on this April Fool’s Day, I am no fool, I know quality in my midst and it surrounds me in so MANY areas of my life.

I know also that the things that perplex me, are miracles truly in the making. It’s all a matter of persistence, belief and keeping your attitude ‘right’!

How do I know? It’s been a LOOOONG few years and…..I just do.

And, I’m really, REALLY beginning to enjoy the fruits (and vegetables) of my labor!

Bon appetite!

(And hey, join us for our April 15th, 4 course wine pairing dinner featuring, yep….the Magical Chef I’ve so recently stumbled upon….gracing my Carl House kitchen. I’ll be there with delight in my eyes and a belly and mind grateful and ready to be wowed!!)

And the world turns. February 25, 2011

I am most definitely aware of my deficiencies. I am also becoming more aware of where I am not so deficient, expecting myself to be good at it all less and less. Oooooh, but I’m a task master to my very own soul.

Oh Popeye….he am what I am what you are. I’m over half a century old and I’m just now getting that. Certainly some shifts and turns one should not work to so ardently pursue, but rather work, I feel, to blossom the areas that need to bloom.

I’d so much rather flower, bloom where I am planted, than work to replant my very nature.

It’s going to be an amazing year. Love, light, abundance and joy.

And so, ooooooh, SO it is. Just watch!

New Year, New Stories, New Intentions….the Works January 1, 2011

If you’ve been reading my blog awhile, you’ll know perhaps that one of MY favorite things, on this earthly planet, is time alone, snugged in my bed in the morning, computer on my lap and a cup of joe by my side. Learning to be by oneself, relish the moments, taking the time to be with yourself, is a gift for sure.

When I was in the ‘midst’ of graduating from high school, my very best friend at the time, (Liz is still one of my dearest), wrote me a lovely letter which though I’m not one to gather and collect such things, I somehow wish I still had. She wrote to me of the importance of learning to enjoy ones own company, the solitude, the peace, learning to live without the entertainment, company, distractions of others.

Brother Johnny!

I grew up the youngest of three children, brothers just older enough to not be a part of their ‘friend crowd’. When my parents divorced (I was 12) and my mother built an A Frame in the forest and my brothers were off to private school living elsewhere….I was the ‘only’ child. I came to love the company of my animals (we always had several and then, 2 dogs, a cat and 2 goats as I recall)! I’d take long treks in the field beyond the forest where we lived to walk in the violet patches, gather forest plants to make terrariums, bring my paints into the field, (followed by all my four footers) and paint what I saw in the distance.

My eldest brother Jeffery, presented with a photo of himself as a wee one!

These were I find later, important times and my dear friend Liz was correct, learning to be alone was an acquired skill and a gift.

I know as well the absolute gift of both friends and family.

I spent last evening in the company of another dear friend, Janice and her family and friends, eating Moroccan food, sipping wine and sharing stories. I consider this morning where I feel I want to spend my time in this new year. I have weathered some emotional, financial and business storms these last few years, enormously grateful for what that time has taught me. I am more certain of my own abilities and strengths and places where I choose not to tarry. I am less triggered by others, their thoughts of me, my choices or how I choose to live my life. And I feel a connection to heart, mine and the hearts of others in new ways.

I am clear of the opportunities presented to us daily to choose, choose to be right or loving, rested or weary, uplifted or defeated….it’s so clearly up to us. I am choosing some exciting movement for this new year, eager to share the fruits of both my creativity and labor. I envision fun, fond creations, love at every turn and enormous prosperity.

It’s a choice. So here we go.

I wish you all good, your hearts desire, the ability for you to listen to your heart and always, always, great love. For without love and the expression of our own innate creativity, however it is manifest, why heavens would we tarry a minute on this earth?!

Passion, peace, joy, creativity, love, fun and the fulfillment of our heart’s desire!

A New Year of the most delectable sorts to one and all. Go for it! Swiiiing it baby….do!!

With love,

BB Webb
